Closed for the season. Reopening April 15, 2026. In season, regular hours are 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

We're on the grassland bench above Vernon. Follow the signs from Okanagan Landing Road.
What to Bring
Sturdy walking shoes, a full water bottle, sunscreen, and a hat. Binoculars are great but not essential — many species can be spotted with just your eyes. Snacks welcome on the trails.
Trail Etiquette
Stay on marked trails to protect fragile grassland plants. Keep voices low so you (and others) can hear and spot wildlife. Pack out everything you bring in. Dogs and pets are not permitted on site. Please don't pick plants or disturb animals.
Accessibility
The Visitor Centre has a ramp entrance and is fully wheelchair accessible. The Pollinator Garden and Nature Discovery Station are on accessible paths. Some trail sections have moderate grades — contact us at info@abnc.ca if you have specific access needs.
Safety Notes
Watch for Western Rattlesnakes in warm months (May–September) — stay on trails and don't reach under rocks or logs. Carry water year-round. Weather in the Okanagan can shift quickly, so dress in layers. Apply sunscreen even on cloudy days.
Seasonal Notes
Spring (Apr–May): Golden Balsamroot blooms, returning songbirds, turtles emerging at the wetland.
Summer (Jun–Aug): Peak insect and reptile activity, berries ripening, long evenings great for birding.
Fall (Sep–Oct): Crisp air, quieter trails, migrating hawks and songbirds.
Winter (Nov–Mar): Limited hours — check abnc.ca. Excellent for tracking in snow and spotting resident owls.
